I shot six naked ladies and it was incredible

I’ve been a photographer for 16 years and I will tell you I have seen the gamut of life—from the moment a baby comes into this world to promising your love to someone.
But I have to tell you that popping some champagne and capturing women in their underwear has so far been one of the most uplifting experiences I’ve had.
Honestly, when I put out a model call for boudoir about two weeks ago, I wasn’t sure what to expect.  I was blown away by how many women wanted to do this.
Picking just five was tough. But I was so excited for the crew we pulled together. I shot a friend a day before to test lighting and the set up. We were laughing and smiling the entire time. After, she kept telling me how great she felt. How she felt like a model. She told me her Mom body had never looked so good.
The next day was the same story. Every woman was glowing. They felt sexy. Beautiful. Comfortable in their own skin.
And I noticed it was rubbing off on me. When I finished the boudoir marathon, I felt lighter and happier than I ever had after shooting for hours. Ok, I was exhausted enough to collapse on the bed, but there was a smile on my face. Somehow this type of photography is something bigger—something that touches women on a deeper level. We didn’t have a photo shoot. We had an effing party. We celebrated our bodies and our sexiness. And every one of them walked out feeling like a rock star.
A boudoir session isn’t something you do for your spouse. You do it for YOU. You do it because YOU are sexy and that deserves to be celebrated. You do it because you are beautiful and amazing. You do it because wherever you are in life right now, whatever size, whatever age, YOU deserve it.
Don’t we all?

When I began photographing weddings, I was younger than my clients, after some time I was the same age and now I’m photographing brides I met when they were ten. Â Crazy how that works! Â Many, many moons ago I worked with Katie’s mom. Â When they reached out about her wedding, IÂ couldn’t believe so much time had passed and that the little girl I had met in the Derry News news room was now old enough to be getting married! Â She made an absolutely stunning bride and was glowing from ear to ear all day! Â Katie and Charlie were so in tune with one another and so much fun to photograph! Â I adored their black and white color scheme. Â Everything about their day came together so perfectly and we were honored to be a part of it!!

I just LOVE autumn in New Hampshire.  We really do live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Emma and Parker had the most amazing fall day at Loon Mountain. The foliage was breath taking and the air was crisp. Those are my favorite kind of days.  The way these two interacted all day was so heart warming. I didn’t have to give any direction at all, they were so focused on each other.  I never felt like I was “posing” them, just capturing them being them … and they are crazy cute together!
Take a look!

Meredith and Tyler have a storybook history with one another. Â We have photographed high school sweethearts before, but this was a first for first grade sweethearts 🙂 They grew up together and spent many childhood days playing and searching the woods for deer antlers. Tyler actually said, in 3rd grade, that he would marry Meredith one day. Â He knew back then that she was the only girl for him! Â They officially got together when they were 15 and have been together ever since. Their day was a wonderful celebration of their love and we were so happy to be a part of it.

What an amazing day Janice and Mike had for their wedding at Camp Ogontz.  This was our second time photographing a wedding here (the first being Mike’s best man’s wedding a few years ago!) and I seriously consider it a little hidden piece of Heaven on Earth.  From the cabins, to the views, to the barn everything about it is so peaceful and amazing.  It was a perfect fit to Janice and Mike’s laid back, fun-loving personalities.  This venue really lends itself to couples who want a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy the day with family and friends, which is exactly what Janice and Mike did.  It was a privilege to be there to document it.

There is something so special about weddings that take place at private residences.  I love all the personal touches that couples are able to add making the wedding so much more their own.  Laura and Sean got married at her family’s property in Wolfeboro, NH.  After the ceremony the lovely couple, along with their wedding party, hopped into a couple boats for a quick trip around the lake as guests made their way to cocktail hour.  Tables were set up so that guests could all enjoy a view of the lake over dinner followed by a night of dancing in the house.
Thank you so much for including us in your special day!!
